President’s Report   [Khris Rickman]

Khris opened our first video conference meeting. Stated that the Exec Comm has been meeting via conference call about once per week during this pandemic crisis.

Steve Randall from the GCSAA National Office was introduced and he gave a synopsis of what has been happening at headquarters during this virus outbreak. Steve has headed up the Central Plains Region weekly chapter executive directors video meetings over the past 4 weeks. Discussions range from all topics impacting golf in regards to the Corona virus and resulting restrictions. Steve stated that the GCSAA has a variety of info on the website related to these Corona issues affecting golf and golf course operations.

Steve also reported that the GCSAA is in the process of setting up a disaster relief fund to assist members in critical need from the effects of this pandemic. So far 37 applicants have applied for a $500 grant. Apparently the PGA is also working on a similar relief fund.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Education [John Briggs/Dave Pini/Jimmy Bucher]

Events for 2020 are set. Now working on details and expenses.

All events for 2020 through July 31st have been postponed. Fall events are questionable at this time and will be discussed at a later Board meeting.

Research [Rob Kick/Rich Carlson]

Discussed that the 75th Anniversary book is on hold for now. The 2020 Green Cup at St Albans, where the book was to be presented, is questionable to say the least at this particular time. All 75th Anniversary activities likely to be postponed until 2021.

Suggested that this Covid situation be included in the 75th Anniversary publication.
