President’s Report [Khris Rickman]

Khris apologized for his absence at the March meeting but followed proper Covid quarantine protocol.

Treasurer’s Report   [Chris Finnerty]

Current balance reported at US Bank: $80,478.02

Chris reported Affiliate dues are a bit down but will ramp up with dues invoices due out first week of May.

Annual ASP donations are close to previous years so looking good. Some companies have rolled over unused 2020 ASP advertising dollars into this year’s events/advertising.

Bayer is restricted from cooking bbq for us this year so donated $1,000 each for food for Opener and Green Cup.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Education [John Briggs/Dave Pini/Jimmy Bucher]

Jimmy reported that volunteers are needed to assist with setup and registration for the Opener. Volunteers where assigned. Kick requested Committee assign event volunteer duties prior to Board meeting.

Jimmy Johns will deliver sandwiches prior to teeing off. Rich Carlson will bring tee signs. Chuck will bring drinks and banner.

Will pay out 2 places in 2 flights $125 and $100 and (4) par 3’s at $50 each. Total $1,100.
Skins at $5 per player are included in entry fee.

It was pointed out that Winghaven has requested no gathering after golf. Possible gathering at a local bar after golf. The golf Pro Shop will be closed so cash prizes will awarded for this event. Scoring will be finalized off site and awards will be mailed to winners.

Research [Rob Kick/Rich Carlson]

Rob reported he recently participated in a zoom meeting with the PGA Outreach Committee and discussed the possible future involvement of MV with their community outreach program. Future plans are to develop a short course on the old Carter Carburetor site in North StL for the Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club. Plans include a golf shop with 4–5 par 3 golf holes for inter-city youth. Hopefully start in 1–2 years. Possibly get local celebrities involved. MV may possibly help with design. Likely 4-5 Supts to tour site.

Roger Null internship info out in May for 2022. Chairman Curt Rohe with Tim Roethler, Rob Kick and Tom O’Toole.

Director of Operations [Chuck Gast]

Requested final details for the Spring Classic at Westborough. JB to get with Chuck.

ASP 2021 banner is printed and ready for the Opener.

MAGA monthly article assignments were completed. Chuck to email to all volunteers.

A check box for the pre-purchase of the 75th Anniversary book will be included in the 2022 dues invoices to be mailed to all members the first week of May.

Rickman charged Nominating Committee to review criteria for awarding MV honorary memberships in the future.

Assistant Liaisons [Jeff Stickford/Austin Allen]

Assistant’s event May 24 at Lake St. Louis. Start at 9:30 to be off course by 1:00 PM. Format will be 2 player scramble. Max 45 players. 18 holes. Cost per player is $18. Will charge $40 entry fee. No coolers on course and no bar cart. Jimmy Johns for lunch. Pay top 2 teams in 2 or 3 flights.

HISTORICAL COMMITTEE [Jim Buford/Tim Roethler]

Tim reported the 75th book is 95% complete. It will be a hard cover book. Book cost will be around $52 each. Tim recommended $65 charge for book. Would cover printing cost and Healey’s fee. Quantity buying in one order saves $. Kick motioned charge fee of $75 each book. Jimmy Bucher second. Passed unanimously by Board.
