The August Co-Ed event at the Top Golf facility in Chesterfield is set. Chuck to contact Top Golf event coordinator and finalize details.

There was discussion about the MoGIC conference as well as the Shop Tour ’19 coming up this Nov/Dec. Dan Lloyd, Joe Wachter and Chris Finnerty have requested another survey be sent to all MVGCSA members asking their input for seminar topics for both the MoGIC event and Shop Tour. Possible topics at the Shop Tour ’19 include pump service and repair as well as a review of MVGCSA historical information from Jim Healey in preparation for the 75th Anniversary in 2020 for MVGCSA.

There was also some brief discussion about possibly moving the Shop Tour to the month of January in the future. Shop Tour ’19 is set to take place at Norwood Hills CC. Tabled until next month.

Director of Operations [Chuck Gast]

The possibility of leasing a bus to attend the Mizzou Field Day will not be persued.

Rhett Evans will attend the August 14th BOD meeting at Fallon’s to address the Board in regards to recent concerns.

The “Keep it Green” 2019 campaign request was emailed to all MVGCSA Superintendents and Assistant’s July 8, 2019.

Sarah Hoodjer with Turfwerks requested use of a personalized flag for events that they sponsor. It was decided to table this idea for now and possibly incorporate this into the ASP 2020 program so that all Affiliate’s would have this option. Concern was raised as to the logistics of transporting these flags from event to event in a timely manner as well as adding another chore for the host club to accomplish on a busy morning.

It was reported that half of the fee for the Top Golf event has been paid securing our spot for August 15th.

Assistant Liaisons [Adam Lewis/Nick Hittler]

Adam Lewis reported that they are working on securing a venue for the Assistant’s roundtable later this fall, possibly in October.

Care will be taken to ensure the regular season opener along with the Assistant’s season opener will not be scheduled to close together for the 2020 event calendar.

Affiliate Liaisons [Doug Harskamp/Eric Parker]

Doug reported that he has heard nothing but good comments from the recent event held at the Bogey/Log Cabin club last month. Good job Chris!

HISTORICAL COMMITTEE [Jim Buford/Tim Roethler]

Tim Roethler reported that work is underway preparing for the MVGCSA’s 75th Anniversary in 2020. Tim introduced Jim Healy to the Board who is working on a publication to help commemorate our 75th. Jim stated that he has been compiling information on our Association for almost 2 years already and offered a rough draft for the Board to review and comment on. Suggestions were made to assist Jim in compiling and presenting this information for the publication.

A motion was made by Rob Kick and 2nd’d by John Briggs to approve a budget not to exceed $2,000 to allow Jim, under the direction of the historical committee, to proceed with collection of information and publishing a book commemorating our 75th Anniversary to be made available to MV members sometime in late 2020. Following discussion, the motion was approved unanimously.
