Gateway National Golf Links is an 18-hole, links-style, championship golf course designed by Keith Foster and opened in 1998. Located minutes from downtown St. Louis, the Gateway Arch and city skyline can be seen from most holes. With its meticulously manicured bentgrass greens, tees and fairways (44 acres), GNGL is consistently recognized as one of the areas top public facilities. As home course of the Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville men’s golf team, we annually host a NCAA Division 1 tournament, Korn Ferry Tour qualifier and multiple Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association championships/qualifiers.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual that aspires to grow personally and professionally. The right candidate will be hands on with a strong work ethic and a keen eye for detail. The candidate will possess excellent agronomic, people and water management skills. The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the safe and efficient management of the golf course and grounds maintenance operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Maintain strong turfgrass maintenance and agronomic program with course playability being the highest priority on a daily basis

- Oversee all personnel management including recruiting, scheduling, supervising, training and payroll

- Budget forecasting and monitoring

- Supervise and participate in the application and record keeping of fertilizer and pesticide applications.

- Irrigation maintenance, scheduling and water management

- Oversee repair/maintenance of equipment fleet

- Implement and enforce safety program for employees and guests on course

- Communicate with Golf Professional and staff on a daily basis

Experience/Qualifications:

-2 or 4-year degree/certificate in turfgrass or related field is preferred

-Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a Superintendent or 1st Assistant role

-Valid driver’s license

-Ability to obtain Illinois Pesticide Applicator License
