    Assistant Superintendent:

    ** Assist the Superintendent with all daily tasks, crew training, and supervision

    Position Summary

    Forest Hills Country Club is seeking motivated and dependable Assistant-in-Training to help maintain the beauty and playability of our golf courses and club grounds. The Assistant-in-Training will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects related to operating a maintenance department at a high end private club including major capital improvements, day-to-day operations, chemical programming and budget management.


    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform basic lawn and landscape maintenance
    • Mow fairways, greens, and surrounding areas

    Qualifications

    • 1-3 years of experience on a golf course maintenance team
    • Experience involving greens water management, irrigation repair, and/or chemical and fertilizer applications preferred.

    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
    • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
    • Ability to operate basic lawn maintenance equipment (preferred)

    Compensation is an annual salary of $45,000-$55,000 based on experience.

    Position Summary

    The Head Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the General Manager and serves as a key member of the senior leadership team. It is also the oldest, continuously operating Olympic venue in the world. Glen Echo became world renowned when it hosted the Olympic Golf Championships in 1904. Like all country clubs of that era, Glen Echo was home to high society, their families, and friends.     Job Overview

    The Assistant Golf Course/Range Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing the maintenance and care of the golf course, driving range, range tees, and landscaped areas. This position assists in scheduling, training, and supervising maintenance staff while ensuring high-quality playing conditions and a safe, efficient, and well-maintained facility.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Assist in the hiring, training, and daily supervision of maintenance and range staff.

    • Assist scheduling of outside maintenance staff - range and course labor.

    • Support the Superintendent in implementing turfgrass management programs for greens, tees, fairways, and range areas.

    • Execute daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance schedules for mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and equipment care.

    • Monitor turf conditions, irrigation performance, and overall course presentation; report issues promptly to the Superintendent.

    • Assist in maintaining all equipment and tools used in golf course and range operations; perform minor mechanical repairs as needed.

    • Help ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations for all staff.

    • Participate in fertilizer and pesticide applications as directed; maintain proper records in accordance with state regulations.

    • Assist in managing the range ball inventory and ensure that range operations (picking, cleaning, and stocking) are completed efficiently.

    • Support the Superintendent in maintaining facility appearance, including landscaping, parking areas, and snow removal when necessary.

    • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude when interacting with staff, members, and guests.

    • Serve as acting Superintendent in the Superintendent’s absence.

    Qualifications

    • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field – Preferred

    • 1–2 years of golf course or turf maintenance experience – Required

    • Working knowledge of irrigation systems, turf equipment, and basic mechanical skills – Required

    • Missouri Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain within 90 days) – Required

    Bogey Hills Country Club was established in 1962 and is located in St. Charles, MO. The golf course agronomy team cares for 100 acres consisting of both warm and cool season turfgrasses.
