Position Summary
Forest Hills Country Club is seeking motivated and dependable Assistant-in-Training to help maintain the beauty and playability of our golf courses and club grounds. The Assistant-in-Training will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects related to operating a maintenance department at a high end private club including major capital improvements, day-to-day operations, chemical programming and budget management.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic lawn and landscape maintenance
- Mow fairways, greens, and surrounding areas
- Water turf and landscaped areas
- Maintain cleanliness around the golf course and clubhouse
- Tree trimming and weed eating
- Bunker maintenance and detail work
- General grounds upkeep as assigned
- Work closely with Assistants in a mentorship role towards career development
- Assist in the application of fertilizers and chemicals under the direction and supervision of Assistants
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience on a golf course maintenance team
- Experience involving greens water management, irrigation repair, and/or chemical and fertilizer applications preferred.
- Associates or higher degree a plus, but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to operate basic lawn maintenance equipment (preferred)
- Team-oriented mindset
- Reliable and punctual
Compensation is an annual salary of $45,000-$55,000 based on experience.
