Position Summary

Forest Hills Country Club is seeking motivated and dependable Assistant-in-Training to help maintain the beauty and playability of our golf courses and club grounds. The Assistant-in-Training will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects related to operating a maintenance department at a high end private club including major capital improvements, day-to-day operations, chemical programming and budget management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic lawn and landscape maintenance
  
• Mow fairways, greens, and surrounding areas
  
• Water turf and landscaped areas
  
• Maintain cleanliness around the golf course and clubhouse
  
• Tree trimming and weed eating
  
• Bunker maintenance and detail work
  
• General grounds upkeep as assigned
  
• Work closely with Assistants in a mentorship role towards career development
  
• Assist in the application of fertilizers and chemicals under the direction and supervision of Assistants

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience on a golf course maintenance team
  
• Experience involving greens water management, irrigation repair, and/or chemical and fertilizer applications preferred.
• Associates or higher degree a plus, but not required
  
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  
• Ability to operate basic lawn maintenance equipment (preferred)
  
• Team-oriented mindset
  
• Reliable and punctual
  

Compensation is an annual salary of $45,000-$55,000 based on experience.
