Valor Bluffs is a unique 9-hole par-3 day and night golf course located in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Our course features professional course lighting for nighttime play, a military and first responder theme, 14 sand traps, 2 water hazards, and a growing food and beverage operation. We are focused on creating an exceptional guest experience while continuing to improve and develop our facility.
Position: Golf Course Superintendent
Valor Bluffs is seeking a motivated and hands-on Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance and grounds operations. This individual will be responsible for maintaining high-quality playing conditions while helping us continue to elevate the course and property.
Responsibilities
- Manage all golf course maintenance operations, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and landscaping.
- Develop and implement agronomic programs including fertilization, irrigation, pest management, and turf health.
- Supervise and train grounds maintenance staff.
- Create and manage maintenance schedules and priorities.
- Monitor irrigation systems and water management practices.
- Maintain equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Ensure safe operation of maintenance equipment and adherence to safety standards.
- Work closely with ownership and management to establish course improvement plans and budgets.
- Assist in developing both short-term and long-term plans for course conditions and capital improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience in golf course maintenance, turfgrass management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, turfgrass management, fertilizers, and pest control.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Golf course superintendent experience preferred but not required for highly qualified candidates.
