Position Summary

Forest Hills Country Club is seeking a motivated, full-time Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our golf course maintenance team. This position works with the Lead Assistant Superintendent to help oversee the daily maintenance and operations of the golf course.

The Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in ensuring exceptional course conditions through hands-on leadership, staff management, facility preparation, and project oversight. This position assists with planning and directing daily maintenance activities, supervising and training crew members, monitoring turf health, coordinating equipment and irrigation needs, and helping execute agronomic and capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and supervising daily golf course maintenance operations.
• Lead, train, and motivate maintenance staff while promoting a safe work environment.
• Monitor turfgrass health and implement cultural practices and pest management programs.
• Assist with irrigation system management, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Prepare the golf course for daily play, tournaments, outings, and club events.
• Oversee and participate in golf course improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve in the Lead Superintendents’ absence as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in golf course maintenance, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of turfgrass management practices, irrigation systems, and equipment operation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain or maintain any required pesticide applicator license.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
